Another Big Week

This week was huge! It started with last Friday when Cora had to go to the doctor with her first ear infection-- :( . Monday was a holiday and anticipation of big snow. Tuesday was BIG SNOW and a New President! We went sledding and then came in to watch the inauguration. Wednesday was another snow day for Mama-- yippee! And Friday, we finally see teeth, that's right-plural, 2 teeth! I am exhausted just writing about it. Whew!
And about the picture, the dogs have Cora's complete attention all of the time! I should not even try to take a picture of her with them in the room. This picture was taken when we were thawing out from being in the snow.

Snow Much Fun!

We had a few inches here in Durham today. Coy started to go to work but was sliding quite a bit (even in 4wd) so he came home. We even went down our little hill on the sled! Cora's nose really started to run in the cold air so we didn't last too long outside. We still had a fun time and got a few pictures. I love to get snow-- even a few flakes. I hope Cora will like it as much as I do. I need someone to play with! I can't wait to go down our big neighborhood hill with her.

My First Sick Day

Pitiful, right? Cora has had her first sick day. She and I stayed home on Friday due to an ear infection. I had them a lot as a tot-- I hope this is the first and last for her. I had no idea until I took her to the dr. because of a fever. She never complained or even whined. She was just a little extra snuggly. She is such a little trooper.

Happy Half Birthday, Sweet Girl

I have just completed the fastest 6 months of my life. We celebrated Cora’s half birthday today. People have asked me if I remember the days without her and I have to say yes. I read more, I worked more, I watched more tv, I slept later, my house was cleaner, I spent more time with Coy and my friends, I shopped more, I ate out more, I had more money. I could go on and on. But I would not trade a single day with Cora to have all of that back. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful blessing in our lives. We never knew how happy we could be. I am writing with tears in my eyes knowing that in a blink, she will be a whole year old. Wow.
I’ve included her rocking chair pictures and a couple of my favorite pictures, 6 months ago.
6 Months Old!

Good Morning! I'm a belly-sleeper now.

Almost 6 Months Old

Cora will turn 6 months old on Sunday--WOW! I can't believe it! She went for her check-up today. She looks great. She weighs 15lbs and 14.5oz (50%), and she is 27.5 inches long (95%!). Tall and slim. Her weight percentage has decreased but the doctor said that this is normal because she has not had formula. She had to have shots today too. She REALLY didn't like them. It was pitiful-- I have to remind myself that it is for the best. She was ok once we got home and had a nap.

I got a video of Daisy in Cora's lap. For those of you who don't know Daisy the Basset Hound, she is our first of two dogs. We got her 3 months after we got married (almost 8 years ago). She was no spring chicken then... She has always had this amazing ability to know when Coy or I don't feel well, are sad or have had a bad day. She is very snuggly in general but when you really need her, she won't leave your side. She is such a special part of our family. I guess she will be the same with Cora. I think she sensed that Cora needed her today. She just flopped down and let Cora abuse her in her own loving way. Daisy is Cora's favorite toy. Chloe the beagle is a super sweetie too but she can't quite figure Cora out. She keeps her distance for now. I'm sure she will eventually comes around.

And yes, Daisy is alive... It does not appear so in the movie- but she is. Enjoy!
