GO!

Cora has said her first word. It's GO! She says it all of the time. We love it. I hope she's not trying to tell us to go... We're trying not to take it personally.

It has been a while since I posted but not too much has happened. Of course, our baby is talking now and she is also offically sleeping through the night. I have been afraid to say it out loud but I guess it's ok now. She has not gotten up during the night for about 2 weeks now. She sleeps from about 9pm until I wake her at 6:30am. I know people will say that I'm crazy, but I miss spending those quiet times feeding her during the night. Yes, I know that eventually she will remember those 2am and 4am snacks that she used to enjoy so much and I will regret saying that. But for now, it's a little sad.

Other than that, it has been pretty quiet around here. I've included a video that shows how she wakes up every morning, smiling from ear to ear. You can also hear her saying her favorite word. She's so smart!!!

2 Months Old-- Time Flies!

Cora with Kiwi the rabbit. Can't you tell she loves being 2 months old!?
Cora turned 2 months old on Thursday- WOW! We went to the doctor on Friday and got a great report. She is 23.5 inches long (90 %) and 12 lb & 14 oz (90 %). The doctor jokingly called her our "little malnourished baby".

Grandma Mar Mar babysat last night so that Coy and I could go on a date. It was nice. We went out to eat and then shopping to buy Cora a prize for being a good girl. I don't know what all Cora and Grandma did but Cora slept 9 hours straight last night- you read it right, 9 hours! I went to wake her at 8am and she just smiled. I'm not surprised- she is always smiling.

I've posted some pictures. Enjoy!

Mandi holding Laurel and Misty holding Cora at Anna's shower last Sunday.

You can tell that we're proud of ECU's impressive record so far! These are Cora's lucky socks:) Go Pirates!

Rocking Chair Picture- 2 months old- What's funny is that at 2 weeks old, we took the picture of her wearing the same onesie. Needless to say, it's a little more snug now.

Love That Smile!!!

Cora is 8 weeks old today. I finally learned how to put a video on the blog! The movie is not too exciting but we like it. She was supposed to be going to bed but she wanted to play instead. We didn't mind :) I also have video of her waking up this morning. No, she didn't want to get up. Guess we should keep it a little more "low key" right before bedtime.

Another Big Weekend

On Friday night, the Allen family headed over to the DBAP for Cora's first Durham Bulls game. She was great! She slept some of the time and people-watched the rest of the time. Once I realized how hot she was getting (and me too) we decided that we should head for home. So we left around the 6th inning. She loved watching people. You can tell in the picture that she is watching the stands and not her Daddy taking the picture. We can't wait to take her to more games in the spring!

We were pretty low-key on Saturday. We introduced Cora to college football. After seeing the games on Saturday, she wants to go to East Carolina and not Appalachian... sad, sad, sad game ASU played. They'll be back though. We all love ECU football though and were very excited with their big win! We are considering taking Cora to a real ECU game this fall. Kim and Shane Barger gave us the ASU apparel very soon after we found out we were expecting. (The hat was the closest thing I could find to look like a mountaineer straw hat.) I think the pictures are great and the second one shows her reaction to that final score! Better luck next time Apps.

Sunday was Carson McGuirt's 1st birthday party. Cora slept until most people had gone home- go figure. We all had a great time. What other first birthday party has beer and barbecue?! Enjoy the pictures!
